It seems indeed that nowadays we live in an equal and progressive society where individuality matters, human rights are respected and a person is free to choose.
We can choose our way of life, relationships, appearance, etc., …..a little detail … from the variety offered by the “society market”.
Is it an illusion of having a choice? Is our inner freedom allowed to go beyond the commonly accepted norms, clichés and behaviors?
No society is ever ready to break out of its comfort zone, to lose control of the habitual order and to change everyday trues.
The solutions are prepared for us, our roles were stereotyped centuries ago.
Milliards of men and women conform and live in the world of stamps, rejecting their nature.
The common opinion is surprisingly archaic and traces anyone who tries to be free.
In each human being there is the male and female side. The Chinese concept yīn yang was proved scientifically. Men can be tender and sensitive, women can fight and lead.
Traditionally the female side of a man is being suppressed with phrases like “Man don’t cry”, “Man should be strong”, “Man shouldn’t spend too much time on themselves”.
And the other way around “Women have to take care of themselves”, “Women are hysterical”, “Every women’s mission is to be a mother”…
We are leading ourselves to the situation when our “other” very natural side is being denied almost since the day we are born.
The aim of this project is to introduce men who are dare to accept their female side, who let their female side be equal with the male one.
T-Ladies are the liberation of the female side in men. The nature gave them an extraordinary gift to live and feel both genders.
The unique ability to understand men and women and to build an unobtainable harmony inside. Their perception is our unique chance to „Cross the Border – Close the Gap”.
Men do want to be pretty and sensitive, men do want to gossip, men can be weak, men are able to be tender mothers, men want to be easy going and just simply giggling….
My intention is to show the beauty of this soft and tender side in men.
In each series of photos I want to show the personality behind each individual T-Lady, her story, her way of life, how friends and colleagues deal with her both sides. I hope this can inspire a better understanding and more tolerance.
Nevertheless, it is not the social and psychological dissonance which stands in the foreground of my project, my work is about the incredible charisma of each „Girl“.
